The inaugural issue of Art Disk (2006) was a DVD publication, comprised of four independent segments: Art Trailers, Curated and Short Talks.
ART TRAILERS showcase :30 and :60 second works of Video Art, Film, Performance, Installation and Animation. This issue contained 42 works from 10 countries.
Art Trailers showcases a selection of moving image territory, including Video Art, Film, Performance, Installation, etc. This is comprised of works by national, international, emerging and established artists. The current issue consists of 42 works from 10 countries.
CURATED The current issue features 4 shorts curated by Harrell Fletcher. Harrell Fletcher curated a selection video works by San Francisco based artist Kara Hearn including Gladiator, E.T, Fame, and Star Wars episode III. These video works show the artist re-enacting movie scenes that have made her cry. This series stemmed from assignment #47 on Harrell Fletcher and Miranda July’s web project learningtoloveyoumore.com. Kara Hearn has exhibited at White Columns (New York, NY), Small A Gallery (Portland, OR), Festival Images Contre Nature (Marseille, France) and Frankenart Mart (San Francisco. In 2007, Kara will receive her MFA in Art Practice from the University of California, Berkeley CA.
